Stellenbosch University

Application: The International Office of the University of Stellenbosch provides prospective students with all the necessary information which is required to enable them to "acclimate" themselves to the Stellenbosch campus. Their application to come to Stellenbosch must go via and is handled by the International Office (see university website for contact details: http://www0.sun.ac.za/international/ and click on "prospective students") at any rate. Once the application is received it will be forwarded to Dr. Anthony Leysens, the coordinator of Stellenbosch's programme, for approval. The International Office will thereafter be in contact with the students to advise them on issues such as accommodation, registration, selection of courses, etc.

Start: Mid/end of July. The terms runs until the end of October (technically speaking it's the 3rd and 4th term of the local system).

ECTS: Courses are based on 10 ECTS per course and are fully transferable.

Course selection: Usually students can choose three out of four courses:

  • Global Political Economy
  • Politics of Southern Africa
  • Conflict in Africa
  • International Law ( 5 ECTS)
